SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position reports to the General Manager 
and requires supervisory responsibilities of Shift Leaders & Team Members.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

This position must have a minimum of 1 year of experience with Cafe Express as a Shift Leader or 5+ years of service in the restaurant industry with a proven track record of leadership and managerial skills while providing exceptional Guest service is required.

LANGUAGE ABILITY:

This position requires very good written, and excellent verbal and group communication skills. This position also requires the ability to read, analyze, create, and interpret general business memos and documents. English must be fluent and Spanish fluency is preferred but not required.

MATH ABILITY:

This position requires good business math skills.

REASONING ABILITY:

This position requires strong problem solving and decision-making skills, and the ability to be flexible and adapt in any situation.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Good computer skills required. Must be proficient with the use of internet and email as well as be able to utilize business accounting software for inputting invoices, labor scheduling and inventory management (Word & Excel as minimum requirements).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position will require long periods of standing. There is also likely to be extensive lifting of supplies and materials and moderate to loud noise. The use of hands and arms to reach for, grasp and manipulate objects is required. Finger dexterity may be required for POS/computer use. There will be constant exposure to hot equipment and oil throughout the workday.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/CERTIFICATION:

ServSafe Certification and any other local certifications requirements depending upon local municipality.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead successful shifts.
  • Ensures food quality and 100% Guest satisfaction.
  • Ambassador of brand values and standards lives the values and the brand standards and is consistently coaching and developing restaurant Team Members.
  • Demonstrates the ability to follow cash control/security procedures, maintain inventory, manage labor, and takes the appropriate actions to ensure the restaurant's vision and associated targets are met.
  • Consistently and properly executes Food Safety & Line Checks, Figure 8's and Pre-shift Meeting Checklists and coaches accordingly to all findings.
  • Keeps People Analyzer report up to date with input from GMs, creates coaching and development plans for GMs and managers and creates a pipeline of talent to maintain full teams at each restaurant.
  • Is accountable by taking responsibility for mistakes, owns solutions as well as problems. Holds self and Team Members accountable.
  • Has authority to hire and terminate (in partnership with HR).
  • Coaches at every opportunity.
  • Ensures complete and timely execution of corporate & local marketing programs.
  • Ensures that the Occupational Safety and Health Act, local health and safety codes, as well as the company safety and security policies are being adhered to.
  • Ensures that the restaurant is following the preventative maintenance program with regards to facility, equipment, and building maintenance.
  • Ensures a safe working and Guest experience environment by facilitating safe work behaviors of the team.
 
Compensation: $45,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
